Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Cajun Seasoning by whisking together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, cayenne, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat, add minced garlic and half of the Cajun seasoning, and sauté for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Stir in 1 cup of uncooked long grain white rice and toast for about 2 minutes until slightly translucent.
  4. Pour in 2 cups of chicken broth, bring to a boil, cover, lower the heat, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter, toss in 1 pound of large raw shrimp with remaining Cajun seasoning.
  6. Once the rice is nearly done, place the seasoned shrimp on top, cover, and cook for an additional 3–5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot.
