  • 2 cans Crescent Dough
  • 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese shredded

  • 1 teaspoon Nutmeg freshly grated preferred
For the Finish
  • 2 teaspoons Fresh Thyme or rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon Butter for greasing the pan

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8"x8" baking dish with butter.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add chopped apples and sauté for about 4 minutes.
  3. Add nutmeg and thyme to the apples and cook for another 4 minutes until caramelized.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, whole milk, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  5. Tear half of the crescent dough into pieces and layer them in the greased baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle half of the caramelized apples and half of the cheddar cheese over the dough.
  7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers.
  8. Add the remaining crescent dough pieces and top with the rest of the apples and cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, garnish with thyme, and serve.
