Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut broccoli and cauliflower into small florets and steam for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Melt butter in a large skillet, add diced onion and minced garlic and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over onion mixture and whisk, then slowly pour in chicken broth while whisking until thick.
  5. Reduce heat and mix in cream cheese until melted, season to taste.
  6. Combine breadcrumbs with melted butter for the topping.
  7. Layer vegetables, cheese sauce, and grated cheese in a casserole dish.
  8. Sprinkle breadcrumb topping over the casserole and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Let it sit before serving, garnishing if desired.
