Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13x9-inch baking dish with softened butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, baking powder, ground cinnamon, kosher salt, and nutmeg. Stir until blended.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, honey, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples and walnuts until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. Optionally sprinkle with cinnamon on top.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown, and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  8. Let cool for 20 minutes before slicing into squares. Serve warm.
