Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13x9-inch baking dish with softened butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, baking powder, ground cinnamon, kosher salt, and nutmeg. Stir until blended.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, honey, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples and walnuts until evenly distributed.
- Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. Optionally sprinkle with cinnamon on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown, and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Let cool for 20 minutes before slicing into squares. Serve warm.
