Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve a cup of pasta water, drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Garlic: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Create the Tomato Base: Add crushed tomatoes to the skillet and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the Cream: Lower the heat and stir in heavy cream. Cook for 2-3 minutes until creamy.
  5. Incorporate the Fresh Basil: Add torn basil leaves to the sauce, cooking for an additional minute.
  6. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Mix the drained pasta into the sauce. Add reserved pasta water as needed for consistency.
  7. Serve and Garnish: Plate the pasta and top with grated parmesan and extra basil.
