Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Layer the thinly sliced beef in the Instant Pot and pour in the beef broth. Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the beef. Seal the lid and set the Instant Pot to cook on High Pressure for 10 minutes.
  2. Once cooking is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then perform a quick release for any remaining pressure. Carefully open the lid to access the cooked beef.
  3. In a saucepan, melt unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to form a roux. Gradually whisk in milk until the sauce thickens. Add hot sauce and cheddar cheese until smooth.
  4. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Butter the insides of the onion buns and toast them until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the sandwiches by placing the beef on the toasted buns and topping with the cheese sauce. Serve immediately.
