Ingredients

Pasta
  • 8 ounces Spaghetti Choose whole wheat or gluten-free for a twist on classic comfort.
Creamy Base
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Use full-fat for extra creaminess or low-fat for lighter options.
  • 24 ounces Pasta Sauce Opt for a high-quality brand or homemade for the best flavor.
  • 14.5 ounces Diced Tomatoes (undrained) Adds essential moisture; keep those juices for deliciousness!
Topping
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese Use mozzarella or a blend; you want that golden, bubbly finish!
Garnishing
  • ¼ cup Fresh Basil Adds aromatic brightness; it's an optional but delightful touch.
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Sprinkle on top for just the right amount of heat; adjust to personal taste.

Equipment

  • large pot
  • casserole dish
  • wooden spoon

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside.
  2. In the pot, add cubed cream cheese and stir until it melts and forms a creamy base, about 3–5 minutes.
  3. Return the drained spaghetti to the pot with melted cream cheese. Pour in pasta sauce and undrained diced tomatoes, mixing well. Stir in half of the shredded cheese until well combined.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a casserole dish and pour the spaghetti mix into the dish. Top with the remaining shredded cheese. Bake for 30–35 minutes.
  5. Let the dish cool for 15 minutes before garnishing with fresh basil and red pepper flakes before serving.
