Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 8 ounces Pipe Rigate or Shells or elbow macaroni as a substitute
For the Cheese Sauce
  • 2 cups Whole Milk or plant-based milk for dairy-free
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream or half-and-half
  • 1 cup Vegetable Broth or chicken broth
  • 1 cups Shredded White Cheddar Cheese freshly shredded is best
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese or Gruyère
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder fresh sautéed onions can be added
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Mustard for added flavor
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric optional
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly cracked
For the Brisket
  • 2 cups Shredded Brisket or smoked pulled pork
  • ½ cup Beef Broth or chicken broth
  • ¼ cup Barbecue Sauce use your favorite brand
Optional Garnish
  • 1 cup Crispy Onion Strings for added crunch

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water for about 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and return to pot.
  2. Prepare the cheese sauce by combining whole milk, heavy cream, and vegetable broth in the same pot. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Melt white cheddar and sharp cheddar into the sauce, stirring until smooth. Add garlic powder, onion powder, ground mustard, turmeric, and black pepper.
  4. Heat shredded brisket with beef broth and barbecue sauce in a separate pan for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Combine the melted cheese sauce with pasta and serve topped with the brisket and optional crispy onion strings.
