Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Break the broccoli and cauliflower into bite-sized florets. Steam for 3-4 minutes until bright green.
  3. Melt 6 tablespoons of butter in a skillet, add ½ cup diced onion and 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Whisk in ¼ cup flour, cook for 45 seconds. Gradually add 2 ½ cups chicken broth and stir until thickened.
  5. Add 4 oz cream cheese, and seasonings to taste, stirring until smooth.
  6. Combine 1 cup of breadcrumbs with 1 tablespoon melted butter.
  7. Layer half of the steamed vegetables, cheese sauce, and cheese in a greased dish. Repeat layers.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
