- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 13"x9" baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, eggs, brown sugar, cornstarch, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and kosher salt until smooth.
- Pour the pumpkin mixture into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the pumpkin layer.
- Add the chopped pecans on top of the yellow cake mix.
- Melt the unsalted butter and drizzle it over the topping.
- Bake for 55 to 60 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
