  • ¼ cup Butter (or Oil) Coconut oil or dairy-free butter works well for vegan.
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Pecans Walnuts or almonds can be used if preferred.
  • ½ cup Sugar

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  5. Prepare the casserole dish: Pour the batter into a greased casserole dish.
  6. Create the pecan topping: Mix sugar with chopped pecans and sprinkle over the batter.
  7. Add hot water: Pour very hot water over the pecan topping without stirring.
