  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour Cornstarch or gluten-free flour can also be used.
  • 1 cup beef stock Vegetable broth can make it lighter.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Soy sauce is a good substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Fresh onions can be used but require extra cooking time.
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms White button mushrooms work as well.

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Mix patties by combining lean ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Dijon mustard, dried oregano, and kosher salt in a mixing bowl, then shape into 4 patties.
  2. Sear the patties in a skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat for about 3 minutes on each side.
  3. Make the gravy by melting butter in the same skillet, adding flour to create a roux, and then whisk in beef stock.
  4. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and sliced mushrooms to the gravy, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Cook the patties in the gravy on medium-low heat for another 10 minutes, ensuring they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
