Ingredients
  

For the Shrimp
  • 1 pound shrimp fresh or fully thawed
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
For the Bang Bang Sauce
  • 1 cup mayonnaise no substitutes
  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha adjust for spice level
For Assembly
  • 4 pieces tortillas flour or Bibb lettuce
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup radishes sliced
  • ½ cup jalapeños optional
  • ¼ cup green onions chopped
  • ¼ cup cilantro chopped

Method
 

Bang Bang Sauce Preparation
  1. Whisk together 1 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of chili garlic sauce, and 1 tablespoon of sriracha until smooth and creamy. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Shrimp Preparation
  1. Soak the shrimp in 1 cup of buttermilk for about 20 minutes.
  2. Mix 1 cup of all-purpose flour, ½ cup of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Coat each shrimp in the flour mixture and let rest for 5-10 minutes on a cooling rack.
Cooking the Shrimp
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F. Fry the shrimp in small batches for 4 to 4.5 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Transfer fried shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate.
Taco Assembly
  1. Toss the fried shrimp with the prepared bang bang sauce.
  2. Assemble tacos with tortillas, shrimp, cabbage, radishes, jalapeños, green onions, and cilantro.
