Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Slice the chicken breasts into cutlets, about 1 inch thick. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Coat lightly with all-purpose flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook for 4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, melt remaining butter and add smashed garlic. Sauté for 3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring well. Add additional garlic powder and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, ensuring it's submerged in the sauce. Warm for a couple of minutes before serving.
