Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour and ground cinnamon. Toss in chopped apples and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out thawed puff pastry into a 12-inch square and cut into 4 squares.
- Spoon half a cup of apple filling into the center of each pastry square. Fold to form triangles and seal edges.
- Brush melted butter mixed with sugar and cinnamon over the turnovers. Bake for 12-16 minutes until golden.
- Remove from oven, allow to cool slightly, and serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
