Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour and ground cinnamon. Toss in chopped apples and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out thawed puff pastry into a 12-inch square and cut into 4 squares.
  3. Spoon half a cup of apple filling into the center of each pastry square. Fold to form triangles and seal edges.
  4. Brush melted butter mixed with sugar and cinnamon over the turnovers. Bake for 12-16 minutes until golden.
  5. Remove from oven, allow to cool slightly, and serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
