- Allow the whoopie pies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Prepare the cream cheese filling by beating the butter and powdered sugar until fluffy, then mix in the cream cheese.
- Spread the cream cheese filling on one cookie and sandwich with another.
- Optionally, dust assembled whoopie pies with powdered sugar before serving.
