Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Salisbury Steak
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to combine gently, avoiding overmixing. Shape into four equal patties, each about ¾ inch thick.
- Heat a tablespoon of avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once shimmery, carefully place the patties into the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour and beef broth (or water) until smooth. In the same skillet, add the mixture to the drippings from the cooked patties. Stir continuously over medium heat until the gravy starts to thicken.
- Lower the heat and return the patties to the skillet, nestling into the gravy. Allow to simmer for 3-5 minutes. If the gravy becomes too thick, add a splash of water to adjust.
- Once the gravy has thickened and the patties are heated through, serve warm, spooning the gravy over the top.
