  1. Begin by tearing the vibrant collard greens from their tough stems and rinsing them thoroughly under running water.
  2. In your slow cooker, create a base layer with half of the collard greens, followed by half of the granulated sugar, seasoned salt, sliced onions, and garlic.
  3. Pour in half of the chicken stock and apple cider vinegar, then add half of the smoked turkey pieces.
  4. Repeat the layering process with the remaining ingredients.
  5. Cover your slow cooker tightly and set it to high heat. Let the ingredients cook for about 8 hours.
  6. After 8 hours, remove the turkey pieces and shred the meat off the bones, returning shredded meat to the collard greens.
