  • 1 teaspoon Sichuan Peppercorns Ground.
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cumin The star spice.
For the Stir Fry
  • 1 cup Onions (Sliced) Cook until translucent.
  • 2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Oil Drizzle at the end.
  • ¼ cup Fresh Cilantro (Chopped) For garnish.
  • ¼ cup Toasted Sesame Seeds/Green Onions (Optional) For garnish.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Marinate the Beef: Whisk Shaoxing wine, both soy sauces, and cornstarch together. Coat flank steak in the marinade and let rest for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Sear the Beef: Heat a skillet over high heat, add half the sesame oil, then add the marinated beef and sear for about 2 minutes until crisped. Transfer to a plate.
  3. Cook the Onions: In the same pan, reduce heat to medium, add remaining oil, and sauté onions for about 4 minutes until translucent.
  4. Add Aromatics: Stir in garlic, ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, and cumin. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until aromatic.
  5. Combine Ingredients: Return beef to the pan, add collected juices and drizzle with sesame oil. Toss for about 1 minute until heated through.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, serve hot garnished with cilantro and optional sesame seeds or green onions.
